Journal Entry 1/16/24

My morning ritual is to do my Yoga practice, meditation, and sound codes before going to the kitchen for morning coffee or tea to journal and read a poem each day by Rumi.

A Year with Rumi is a daily gift of this mystic and his writings. A line from today’s Rumi: “Let the beauty we love be what we do. There are hundreds of ways to kneel and kiss the ground.”

Reading and rereading, drinking in the poetic dance of words that stir my soul and fill my heart to where my own pen longs to dance across these pale blue lines and white pages, letting the beauty I love be what I do, and yes, once awakened to the centered heart, in a constant state of love, I can find magical moments in the simplest of things that cause my heart to burst with gratitude and in those moments it’s as though I kneel to kiss the ground.

Gratitude, if we choose, is a continual state of being and the highest of frequencies. For so many years now I’ve been teaching that gratitude changes the landscape of your life. But now I’ll add that it can also teach those around you the value of being grateful. It’s the opportunity to recognize the blessings, gifts and miracles that are ever-present in your life. It keeps your heart open but also heightens your awareness to witness and observe those magical moments in life.

I have learned that there is always something to be grateful for. I teach this because it has truly changed my life with all the challenges I have faced and moved through with grace in these 68 years. The most glorious and priceless thing I have gained is the wisdom of life experience.

Through my study of Yoga over twenty years ago I learned that I am the creator of my life by what I think, what I say and what I do. Over time and through my work I can confirm that we are ALL creators and it’s time that we all step into our creative powers. We have the power to create an extraordinary life and beautiful world both as individuals and as a collective.

Every moment of your life is an opportunity to choose what to think in any situation and this is empowering. For myself, it’s so empowering to be the victor of life rather than a victim. This is what my life journey has taught me through every tear, every fear, every joy, and sorrow. I choose to create a life of beauty, to let the beauty I love be what I do. For all of this and Life’s lessons, with a heart bursting with gratitude and love, I kneel and kiss the ground.

With gratitude to Rumi…
