Yoga Classes

Following a “calling” at an early age to all things spiritual, Kathleen immersed herself in the traditions of her Catholic upbringing. For most of her life, deep devotion and involvement in the Church and its organizations had been enough to feed her yearning to know God, though deep inside she sensed there was something missing. Upon reaching her mid 40s, as a result of a lifetime of sciatica she developed a condition called drop foot, and life and its many other challenges became overwhelming. It was through Yoga and meditation that she discovered what was missing—the tools through which she would transform and heal herself, physically, emotionally and spiritually.
"I believe I was divinely guided to Yoga. From the very first class I knew this was something I had to do for myself. Something resonated deep within me, an awakening of the body and breath. In time, as my body, mind and spirit healed, I realized this was the missing link in my spiritual journey and the answer to years of prayer and struggle.
Yoga gives me the practical tools to cultivate a strong physical body while respecting my challenges. It gives me a strong mind (one that is no longer overpowered by emotion), meditation and breath techniques, self-discipline, self-respect, self-responsibility, and a deeper sense of gratitude and humility. I learned that my body is a holy temple, that I am the keeper of the temple, and that through my self-awareness I am healthy and whole. Yoga has empowered me to be my best in all areas of my life."
Class Schedule:
Kathleen offers group classes and private instruction to all ages. Tap into the body/mind/spirit connection through the practice of Hatha Yoga. Under Kathleen’s detailed and gentle guidance, learn postures and breathing techniques (pranayama) to build your spiritual and physical strength and flexibility. Through detailed instruction and traditional teachings, you are reminded that it is important to love and nurture yourself first. Integrating kindness and sensitivity into each class, Kathleen ensures that each student, no matter the level of fitness or age, is fully engaged.
Wednesday: 4:30pm-5:30pm Restorative Yoga for anyone with chronic illness, cancer, injury, physical limitations.
Wednesday: 6:00pm-7:00pm Hatha Yoga for all levels

Through the daily practice of yoga, Kathleen has discovered the tools to be healthy in body, strong in mind and grateful for the gift and blessings of each day. She is a breast cancer survivor and has lived with a chronic condition since 1995. As yoga teacher and Reiki Master for Creative Healing Connections, Kathleen uses this gentle approach to yoga, no matter what your stage of recovery, to provide a safe, loving and nurturing space to tap into your own healing. Each class consists of very gentle movement, breathing and deep relaxation methods that provide healing, vitality and inner peace.Yoga is not just for the fit–the benefits of Yoga are for everyone! Having Yoga in my life is a true blessing. I have gone from being worried and self-conscious all the time to taking life as it comes and relaxing into whatever comes. I've learned that whatever mood seems to take over it can be instantly changed just by intention. And that happiness and bliss are just a second away in any direction. I've always tried to meditate and pray but Yoga makes meditation possible when the physical limitations and nervous thoughts melt away through the practice. Breathing has become deeper. Even heartbeat can be modified and slowed with deep breathing and a few simple exercises.
