Reader Reviews
Kathy's years of tragedy and injury did not squelch this author's love of life and her revelation to life's purpose. The truth of God's love for each of us prevails throughout this insightful book, and the life changing concepts—such as loving ourselves before we can love others, the truth that God wants us to walk in health, looking forward with expectation and not looking back—but most of all how all of creation mirrors God's way and purpose. She reveals her journey to wholeness through learning that God has made the provisions for all this to happen if we seek Him first. In addition to all of this insight through her poetic notes on nature (and what it taught her—the layout, photographs, water color and design of this book make it a "coffee table" keeper—a gift I now want to share with everyone on my Christmas list. I give her 5 stars for never giving up, pursuing her dream and sharing her life with all of us so openly.

Thank you Kathleen for letting us glimpse your pain, struggle, triumph and return to you. I only wish more people would share their stories as you have to remind us that we all may have our own journeys to take but we have many out there that can help to guide us and help us up when we fall. This book will help comfort all those who have ever questioned their true selves against what everyone else wants to see. Bravo on a beautifully written book filled with so much meaning, discovery and love.

Kathleen has done such a wonderful job in expressing her life lessons on paper. Her poems are so inspirational, I have so many favorites. The illustrations were jumping off the page! It is a book I keep by my nightstand and read one passage each night to put my day to rest. Her words touch all of our hearts and soul. Thank you for sharing your life journey to get you from tragedy to a spiritual healing place! Hoping you are writing your next inspirational book to pass along…

Kathleen (Disclaimer: I know her from yoga school) gives us a glimpse into her life, and her heart, in this book, and she brings her very own style to this genre of spiritual books. Everyone's journey is different, and everyone's journey is the same. Kathleen is able to tell us this in her own way. The artwork in Adirondack Retreat, too, is both beauteous, and inimitable. Kathleen has a gift—she's able to tell her story—and luckily for us, we're able to share her gift when we read this book.

I wanted to tell you that I really love your book! Simple, yet inspirational. It took me through a whole gamut of emotions, tears of joy and sorrow. The Adirondack mountains hold within them great healing powers or should I say they hold the space for us to find the healing power within ourselves. All the natural beauty in the water the plants, animals, and people… your book reminds us that we are very blessed to be here. Our community is richer now that you have arrived to be a part of it. Thank you for the gifts you bring.

I read the book yesterday and it was very inspiring—kind of like a yogic Walden. Very nice feeling on a cold Sunday afternoon in the winter on River Road.

All I can say is wow. I just finished your book and in fact read it all in one sitting. I was so enthralled by it. I know that this book will be such an inspiration to so many trying to find their way. I know it has helped me to see things a little different as well. I am still on that journey and it's good to know that I am not the only one that sometimes questions how things are as opposed to how I feel about them. Someone once told me that it is those that can really look inside themselves that feel and those that don't aren't really living. It's not easy to look into your self and I struggle with it all the time. I am happy to know that I have others who have also gone on this journey and know that the outcome of all of it will be a sweet one. Gotta have hope right?

What a tremendous blessing Adirondack Retreat is to me!!! It is truly a magnificent work that speaks to my Spirit. Not only is the message inspirational and healing but the photographs, graphics, layout and even the quality of the paper is top quality making a very effective and beautiful presentation. It is crystal clear that much care and thought went into the writing and design of your book. You can take great satisfaction in knowing you have birthed a work that will help many broken people to spiritual and emotional healing and renewal in the present as well as many years after you and I have gone home…a work that will stand the test of time.
